UCS recently supplied PVC conduits, bends, fittings and consumables to the Chichester Solar Gas Hybrid Project in Western Australia. 

The EPC contract (worth $165 million) was awarded to Downer by Alinta Energy to build the 60MW Solar Farm and supporting power infrastructure at the Fortescue Metals Group’s (Fortescue) Chichester Hub iron ore operations. 

The project includes the construction of a new solar farm, as well as a ~60 kilometre transmission line linking the Fortescue’s Christmas Creek and Cloudbreak mining operations with Alinta Energy’s Newman gas-fired power station and 35MW battery facility.

This renewable energy will supply up to 100% of daytime operations. 

UCS was able to manufacture and transport the bends and fittings across the country for the 3 electrical substations and solar farm portion of this major infrastructure project.
